Some more Christmas for you :)

Good Evening all I hope you are all well. Just when I thought I was getting better my cold has come back with full force am feeling awful today. I thought I would cheer myself up and post a card I have made for Christmas, Christmas is one of my favourite times of year :)

This is a completely different type of card to the ones I usually make, the first thing you will probably notice is that I have NO COLOURING !! I know I never thought I would enjoy making this sort of card but I really did enjoy it and have made a few more which I will post over the next few weeks. I bought the card and die cuts for this at a stamp show at Alexandra Palace a while back. I am very impressed at the quality of the card and how far it has gone actually and will be buying more once I have been paid. You can find it Here.

A doggy Christmas

Good Evening ladies I hope you are all well. I have been poorly since Thursday last week and am only just now starting to feel a bit better :( I have been coughing so much the last few days my ribs are bruised - on the bright side I won't have to do any stomach exercises for the next few days haha.
I wanted to show you a card tonight that I made for my Christmas stash. It is using one of the Christmas stamps from the Lili of the valley Christmas stamp sheet.

I have coloured this little guy using my copic markers. The papers are from the Papermania classic Christmas collection. I have mounted three strips in silver miri card and red card. The ribbon is from my local craft store. I added some stickles on to the image to make the snow glittery :) I know snow isn't really glittery but what is a Christmas card without glitter.

I will be back soon to post more cards promise x

A glittery Christmas

Evening all, I have been busy making christmas cards for a craft sale that I am doing this month. I really need to get more made. I particularly like this one. I made it using some glitter embossing powder that I saw being demonstrated at my local garden centres craft section. I plan on using it on a lot more cards as it is effective but also quick. Lets not mention the mess though :)

I love the glitter you cant see just how glittery it is in this picture I will have to see if I can get a few more made to show you x

night all xx

An 18th Birthday card and some BRILLIANT news

Hello everyone (if your still there) it's been a while but I have some excellent news I have been asked to join the 2cute design team so excited to start working with these images pop along here to see what the current DT are up to.

I have been making cards behind the scene and promise to be better at uploading them now :) Here is a card I made for a colleagues daughter for her 18th Birthday - he had looked around all of the shops and didn't like any of the ones he had seen. I have used an image from Sweet N Sassy stamps I think this image is perfect for the more grown up / teenager card
The paper is actually from a christmas paper pack but i thought it would go well with this card. I am not sure if you can see it in the picture but it is glittery too which I love. The ribbon was brought from my local craft shop and the sentiment computer generated.

Below is a close up of the image

This image has been coloured using copic markers as always. I am still trying to learn how to colour the folds in clothes with these but am gradually getting better. I have inked the edge of the image using distress inks and mounted it on to two tones of blue card.

A wedding anniversary card

Good Morning all, can you believe it, two posts in two days I haven't done this in a while :) It is my mum and dads 29th Wedding anniversary today and on Thursday my Dad asked me to make him a card to give to my mum. I wanted to do something special using one of the new Lili of the valley stamps I bought at Ally Pally.

I have never made a vintage style card before but I don't think this is too bad for a first attempt. To begin with I sat there for about 30 minutes wondering what on earth i could use as I didn't really want any pattern on the background. In the end i ended up cutting up one of the cats food boxes and distressing the edges then inking it with Tim Holtz old photo distress ink. I did the same with a small piece of Kraft that I had left over from when I went to Stephs make and take last year.
I coloured the image using copics - I think I need to get a few more colours for this sort of card so if anyone has any recommendations of colour groups that work well for this sort of colour please could you let me know :)
The sentiment is actually a sticker that I had from an old sentiment set that has been in my craftbox for years, I knew it would come in handy at some point. And the string was bought from a £1 store.
I made the little roses myself using the remainder of the Kraft card which I distressed and then added some stickles glitter glue to the edges.

Busy card making

Hello ladies I hope you are all well. I have been very busy card making today I am going to show you a card I made a few days ago though. I have finally finished the wedding invites so have now moved on to my Christmas cards.

I went along to Alexandra palace last weekend with my friend Fi and we had a wonder around. I have to say that although there was loads of lovely stalls and demos I actually found the whole day pretty stressful mainly because of the sheer amount of people there who kept barging in to me and Fiona and as Fiona is pregnant she had to stay away from a few of the stalls as she couldn't safely get near any, there was also no where to sit at lunch so we ended up sat on the floor like many other people. I did however get to the lili of the valley stall which I was very pleased with and bought two of the £12 stamp sheets and met Jacquei as she was demoing so that was really nice :)

Here is a card I made using one of the stamps from the Christmas set and the sentiment also

I coloured the image with my copics and have cut out and coloured an extra foot, present and hat and stuck them on with foam pads to make it more 3D I think you can see that better in the picture below.

The papers are by Dovecraft from the let it snow collection I love these they are beautiful papers - they actually look better in person but I seem to have lost my nack when taking pictures recently.
I used two different snowflake punches for the snowflakes and added some stikkles glitter glue to these :)

A birthday card for a good friend

It is one of mine and my husbands birhtdays on on Wednesday and this is the card i have made for him. He has actually already had it as we celebrated his birthday yesterday :) The image is one I won from the Greeting Farm a little while back now I am really liking this little dude.
The paper is from the Basic Grey cupcake collection and the blue backing paper is from the paper cellar. The sentiment is hand stamped and then mounted on to the blue card stock. I have coloured the image with copic markers as always and have shaded around the outside of the image in C1 which i think although you can't see it brilliantly in this image, in real life really makes the image pop.

I have used string to wrap around the card and make a little bow as I think this always looks a bit more appropriate for male cards :) we actually bought this for my cats to play with but I am sure they don't mind sharing.

I hope you are all well out there in blogland. I have been busy making 2 more cards today and still have another 2 made that I haven't posted yet. I am hoping to post another one this week but at the moment most of my time is taken up training for the great eastern run on the 10th October. I am running the half marathon in aid of Sue Ryder Care if you would like to sponsor me please follow the link on my sidebar. Any sponsors are greatly appreciated and I know will really help push me through those 13.2 miles.

A late birthday card

It is my brother in laws birthday on Tuesday and this is the card I have made for him. He has actually away on holiday at the moment i was meant to get the card to him before he left but i completley forgot so I thought I would make a suitable card using this fab 'late' image from Mo Manning.

The papers are Wild Saffron by K&Co I have inked the edges of them using rusty hinge distress inks. The clocks were printed off on my pc and then inked using the distress inks and mounted on to card. I have popped a few of them up using foam pads. The tag was also computer generated and inked in the same way.

I coloured the image using copic markers, here is a close up;

I have been learning how to do folds in clothes recently, I think this is my best attempt so far. it took me ages but I am pleased with it. I have also been learning to colour fur so I have used this technique for this image too :)

I hope you like my card I am entering it in to the following challenges;

Digital tuesday challenge - dots and stripes - I have both of these in my background paper

A card for my sister to give to her boyfriend

Hello all, i seem to be getting worse at this posting on my blog I have a few cards to post so am going to spread them out over the next few days. I made this card for my sister to give to her boyfriend, he is off to uni soon so they aren't going to be able to see each other as much and she wanted a card to give him.

I received this image in a swap aaaaaages ago it is perfect considering my sister asked me for a sad bear image :) I coloured him with copic markers using a tutorial from Susanne Dean.

Here is a close up of the bear

I also made it so you can take the tag out and enter in a little message

This is what has been keeping me busy

Hello ladies I hope you are all well first of all please let me apologies for being somewhat absent of late. I have been busy making my brothers wedding invitations and training for a half marathon I am running in October in aid of Sue Ryder Care.

I have finally finished all of the day invites made 35 of these in the end. Still have the evening ones to go but they are a little simpler and just a square card. I think most of the work came with making the pocket folds and the embossing and distressing I am really pleased with them.

Here is the front

To begin i cut out all of the invitations from sheets of A1 snow white card and made the pocket folds using a template given to me by my good friend Fiona. Once I had them all cut and ready to go i hand stamped all of the little snowflakes and embossed them with white embossing powder. Following this i used my Tim Holtz Distress inks in Broken china to lay the base colour and then added a bit of stormy sky to give depth. this gave the base of the card. I also wanted to add a little sparkle so i used some diamantes in the centre of some of the snowflakes and added stickles clear glitter glue to the centres of all of the ones without a diamante. The your invited stamp was stamped using memento ink.

I then had to print out the snowy trees background on the computer followed by the wedding invite text which i printed on to vellum. I attached the vellum to the snow image using blue brads which i bought in bulk on ebay (I did find some of them to be very brittle but for the most part they were ok) I rally like this effect i think you will be able to see it better in the photo below. (I have removed all of the dates and times with photo shop) Once I had this done i mounted the information on to a light blue paper and then mounted that on to silver miri card.

In this image you can see the snow background a bit better. (again the information has been removed using photoshop which is why there are blotches everywhere)

Here is a close up of the pocket fold. I made 3 inserts - 1x menu, 1x gift list, 1x venue info and directions.these were all mounted on to blue paper and then silver miri card.

I am seriously chuffed with how these turned out. Am working on getting the evening ones finished tomorrow so I can show you those soon too and I have made a stationery holder recently too which i have to show you :)

Thank you all for looking xx

Karens Doodles Challenge 19 - a different shape

Good Morning Ladies I hope you are all well and that you are reading this at 10 am (the stupid thing didn't work last week) Our challenge this week is a different shape. For me this is anything other than square :) as you may have noticed pretty much all my cards are square so it was weird for me to make something different but I actually really like it :)

I have used the Mr Fix it Grandpa image which you can find here isn't he brilliant :) He has been coloured with copics and the paper I have used is a free download which you can find here I chose it especially to go with this image and my buttons.

I still have a bit of a way to go with the copics, really need to find some time to actually sit down and do the coursework, at the moment if I am making a card or coloring and image it is because I need to make a card specifically so no room for trial and error but hopefully that will ease up soon :)

I really hope you join us in the challenge over on Karens Doodles this week.. Karen has relased some fab new images I can't wait to make my next card I have just seen the perfect image :)

Look forward to seeing all your entries don't forget to visit the other design team members to see what they have created.

Copics used
BG13, BG15, BG23

Challenge 17 at Karens Doodles Black White and one other colour

Good Morning ladies I hope you are all well. Firstly I would like to apologise for my lack of posting recently life seems to have taken over recently and I have only managed my challenge cards and my Brothers wedding invitations (which are coming along really well) I hope to be making some more very soon though as I have enquired about doing a craft fair in September/October so need to get some cards ready plus I am hoping to get some cards to woodgreen animal shelters again this year for them to sell as they made a lot of money from them last year (all money made was kept by woodgreen)

The challenge this week is Black White and one other colour I have chosen to use black white and red which I think is going to be a popular choice :)

I have used the 'Amanda Panda' image from the site I love this one to bits and have coloured it differently every time I have used it. This time though I coloured it after watching a tutorial by Suzzane Dean and I really think that there is an improvement here (the colours are actually darker in real life but I couldn't get the right light on the photo. Am going to have to invest in a light box I think.

The colours I have used are as follows;
Blacks - C7, C5, C3, C1
Reds - R59, R46, R37, R35

The papers I have had since i first started crafting all those years ago and are ivory black creative tones by Papermania. The buttons are from some of my clothes (the spare ones ) and the little red dots were given to me as a gift

I really enjoyed making this card i think just having the one colour with the black and white is ver effective, I plan on using this colour scheme for some of my christmas cards I think it would look great and Karen has some gorgeous Christmas images in her store

I hope you have enjoyed my card this week can't wait to see what you guys create, don't forget we have 3 prizes up for grabs so get crafting :)

I am entering this card in to the following challenges;

Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Cute Card Thursday - Reduce re use recycle - I have re used some butons
Just Cute Bears - Open as long as it has a bear  I have a panda bear on mine
Rosie Dees Challenge Blog - Summer Birthdays - this card is for my sister in Law who has her Birthday on Tuesday

Sunday, June 27, 2010

Good Morning ladies I hope you are all well, I am so excited today becuase I am going to be starting Suzanne Deans online copic classes - I have been wanting to do these for so long so my family paid for one of the classes for me for my birthday and I got the approval through last night from Suzanne who even though she is on the way to her holiday still managed to approve my application and send me an email - very impressed. Any who in the class Suzanne uses certain stamps and although she says you don't need these stamps to do the class I think it would help me if I could practice using thw ones she uses. I have listed them below - if anyone out there in blog land could help me by stamping any of these images out I would REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate it - I can stamp some up for you too and send them

Magnolia Stamps : "Christmas Morning Tilda", "wood fence", "tree", "Tilda Witch", "Tilda with Birdcage", "strawberry"

Lockhart Stamp Co. "Lighthouse", "Apples in Chintz Bowl"

SCACD Stamps: "Aurora with Cake", "Susan", "Heartstrings"

Verve Stamps "Beautiful You"

CC Designs "Itzie Inkies--Summertime Fun"

Whipper Snapper "Hugs for Ike"

The others are all digi stamps which of course have a different angel policy so I will be buying these on Monday.

If anyone else is interested in doing the class here is the link - would be so much fun to know someone else who is doing it and Suzanne is a fab teacher and is copic certified I can't wait to start

If you do decide to join please let Suxzzane know I recommended you :) I get €5 for everyone who joins on my recommendation not that you would need it once you see her site there are so many cool things to learn

Anyhow I hope you all have a fab Sunday and don't forget the challenge is still on over at Karens Doodles there are 3 fab prizes up for grabs and only 2 entries so far so what are you waiting for, if you don't already have ne of Karens fab images you can grab a free one on her shop site but i promise you once you go to her shop you are going to want every single image and she has added loads of summer once recently too,the challenge this week is Tag your it which can be interpreted any way you want check out the other DT members for inspiration  xxx

Challenge 17 over on Karens Doodles ' Tag your it'

Good Morning ladies I hope you are all well. I am soooooo sorry for the lack of postings on here lately I have been busy making my brothers wedding invitations and have been poorly for the last few days so haven't had time to get any done :( I know it's bad when I can't craft.

The challenge over on Karens Doodles this week is Tag your it. This can be interpreted however you wish as long as you use a Karens Doodles image. I have chosen to make a tag for one of my Christmas presents for this challenge. I am hoping to do a few more too before Christmas I think it is nice to add that little extra touch.

Here is my tag which I made using Santa's list isn't he cute

I coloured the image using copic markers as always :) and added a bit of clear stickles glitter glue to Bigsbys hat. I have heat embossed some snowflakes around the edge of the tag and then distressed using Tim Holtz Distress inks in tumbled glass and stormy sky. This is the same technique I am using for my brothers wedding invitations I will be sure to post a picture when they are completed.

Please be sure to enter the challenge this week over on Karens Doodles - what a great chance to get some christmas cards done too :) if you are needing some inspiration don't forget to check out the rest of the design team to see how they interpreted this challenge.

Look forward to checking out your creations.

Good Morning ladies I hope you are well. I am really crossing my fingers that this post has worked - the last few times I have tried to schedule a post I seem to have done it wrong.

Anyhoo welcome to Karens Doodles 15th Challenge - wow can you believe it has been that many :) Our challenge this week is in the Summer time and it is a joint challenge with all of the other Karens Doodles challenge blogs over the world, you can enter each one but it has to be a different card for each one even if you use the same image :)

Here is my interpretation of the challenge using the - you've come a long way baby girl image from Karens Doodles (you can also get a boy one)

I have made this card for my little sister Chloe who has just finished her Law finals at Oxford University I am so proud of her this is a picture of her coming out of her final exam -

As you can see for my card I have used Summery colors rather than a summery image however if you check out Karens shop Here she has just loaded loads of new summery images they are PERFECT for this challenge. I have coloured my image using copic markers, and have added highlights with my inkassentails white pen.
Also for those rubber lovers out there who don't know -Karen now has some of her stamps in rubber over in the shop so what are you waiting for.

Go on over to the UK challenge blog now to enter your first card, and dont forget you can also enter the Netherlands, USA, Kids, Scandanavia but please do remember it must be a different card or project for each challenge

Karens Doodles Challenge 14

Good Morning All I hope you are well. It is time for another exiting challenge over on the Karens Doodles United Kingdom Challenge blog. This week we have a sketch for you to follow which can be seen below.

I have used a new technique which I learned at the class on Saturday I love it have bought some new colours to play with too :) I am not sure really how to describe it but basically it is using Distress inks which you rub on to the card in a circular motion using the lightest colour first and then the darkest colour over the top. If you want you can clear emboss some pattens on to the card before you add the ink - the darker the ink over these parts the more the embossed shapes will stand out. I really love this effect I wish i could describe it better for you - you will be able to see more cards using this effect on Brendas blog HERE

I have used Barn door and Rusty Hinge Distress inks for this card. The flourish stamp i bought on ebay and the sentiment is from a See D's set of stamps. The main image was a freebie last week at Karens Doodles (there is a new one up for grabs now so don't forget to check it out) I coloured the image using my copic markers and made it 3D by printing the image twice and certain parts of it.

Here is a close up of the image

I have used my inkassentials white pen to add highlights on the flowers and have also used it to give the dotty effect. I have again used the punch I borrowed from my friend Fiona to stamp out some butterflies and dragonflies to add to the card. I have added little gems to these. I have given the punches back now so had better get myself one :)

I also made these little roses aren't they great. I also learned how to make these from Brenda she has a tutorial for these on her blog too if you would like to have a go. I think these will feature on my cards quite a lot from now on - I never got used to working with pre made flowers you can buy in craft stores but these are PERFECT and i can make them to match my papers. In this case I used some card which had the same colour ink on it and edged the flowers with  the barn door red and then added some glitter to the edges.  the stamens were bought in a local craft shop, I really think they finish it off well.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today. Don't forget to enter the challenge over on the challenge blog there are some fab prizes up for offer.

Thank you for visiting and good luck in the challenge this week.

I am entering this card in to the following challenges;

My Weekend

Good Afternoon Ladies I hope you are all well. Boy have I had a busy weekend I managed to sleep through my alarm on Saturday morning meaning I was late for the beginning of my craft class at SirStampalot I have never been as un organised as I have been this weekend honestly. Anway once I got there I was welcomed and really enjoyed the day, everyone was so friendly and I had so much fun learning new things. First we made a little recipe holder, I haven't finished mine yet but when I have I will be sure to post it up on here for you to see. I am also going to try making a bigger one for little note car sets.
Afterwards we tried distressing with Tim Holtz Distress inks - I have never used these before but had always wanted to try and now I am hooked. I have just been online and bought some more after my little shop on the day and am going to use the technique on my Brother and his fiancees wedding invitations. Here is the card I made.

This is the front of the card - I wish I had written down the name of this stamp it is gorgoeus (I remember it was expensive but thats all lol)

This is the first page - I used a stamp that Brenda brought in I love it, It is a penny black one - think I will have to try and get this one it is brilliant. This page was spritzed with glimmer mist. Yet another product which I now NEED :)
And this is the final page where the message can be written - I am giving this card to an old work friend who wanted a card made for a wedding. I think this will suit.

This is a close up of the roses. I made these using a flower punch. You can find the tutorial on Brenda from Floral Fantasies blog I am so chuffed with these I sm going to be making them all the time now.

I would like to say thank you to Brenda and Chris for their patience with my millions of questions (that are still coming lol) and to all of the ladies for making me feel so welcome. I hope we can all meet again soon.

A Thank you card

Good Afternoon Ladies. I hope you are all well. I had my last day at work today, I am moving on to another company starting Tuesday. I made this thank you card for some of the ladies at work who took me out for lunch yesterday and got me some flowers and a sweetie jar for my new desk :) I will be making another one for the whole company this weekend.
I really love this image it is the only one I have of it though as I got it in a swap. - I do actually have a request but will post that at the bottom of this post :)

I made this card using last weeks Magnolia sketch and am entering it in to this weeks challenge I hope you like it;

I am being a but rubbish and can't for the life of me remember the name of the papers it is on the tip of my tounge but just can't get it sorry.
The image is of course a magnolia image which I have coloured with copics and highlighted with my inkassentials highlighter pen. I have cut out and raised tilda using 3d foam squares. Before i did this though i did the dotty effect on the paper below outlining tilda. I really like this effect i saw it on Chrissies art and design. The little pearls at the top were a gift with an order from the quixotic paperie and the ribbon is from my stash.

Here is a close up of my image

I am entering this card in to the following challenges;

Just Magnolia - Hot and spicy
Inky Impressions - I have chosen flowers and circles
Nutshells - Polka dots or stripes
Charizma cards - going round in circles

Ok my request is this - for my birthday I am hoping to get some money to be able to take Suzanne Deans online Copic class and she has used quite a few stamps which I don't have. The digi ones I can buy but I can't afford them all along with the copics so I was wondering if anyone had any they could stamp some out for me? I would be more than happy to stamp some of mine out for you in return. The ones I need are;

Magnolia Stamps : "Christmas Morning Tilda", "wood fence", "tree", "Tilda Witch", "Tilda with Birdcage", "strawberry"

Lockhart Stamp Co. "Lighthouse", "Apples in Chintz Bowl"

SCACD Stamps: "Aurora with Cake", "Susan", "Heartstrings"

Verve Stamps "Beautiful You"

CC Designs "Itzie Inkies--Summertime Fun"

Whipper Snapper "Hugs for Ike"

The Greeting Farm "Miss Anya Collection"

I would love it if anyone could help - my email is on the side of my blog so if you let me know I can send you my address and get yours so I can send some images in return xx

The papers are from an old issue of making cards magazine which I had stashed away. The brads in the corner are papermania and the gems used to be clear but I coloured them with my copics to match the image. The button used to be white but I also coloured that with my copics to match the image and then coated it with stickles glitter to make it all sparkly. The beautiful image is called 'beautiful Queen' and can be found here.

My entry to the Whiff of Joy Guest designer challenge

I have stayed up until midnight to finish this card especially for the Whiff of joy guest designer challenge. I started the card this morning but had to leave it as we went to our friends house for a BBQ today. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous and we had a great time .

I have created this card using last weeks sketch from Friday sketchers. I really enjoyed this one and can see me using it again. The image is of course from Whiff of Joy. I have coloured her with copic markers and use a highlighter to add in - well some highlights.

The challenge was to make a card using a Whiff of Joy image using the colours Red, Orange and one other. We were aloud to use a neutral colour also. I have used green as my extra colour. The pale pale yellow is the neutral colour which has been used to mount my papers with. It actually looks darker in the picture but then again with it being so late the colours all look slightly different as it isn't the best light.

Here is the card

Sorry for the poor picture quality.
The papers are from the bloom and grow collection I love these they are gorgeous. The raffia lace is from quixotic paperie and the orange ribbon I bought on ebay. The little butterflys were punched out using a punch I borrowed from my friend Fi today isn't it cute.

Here is a close up of the image

I hope you like my card, fingers crossed it will be good enough to win me a place on the design team. It is a team I have always wanted the chance to be on. I entered once before but didn't get through so I thought I would wait until I had improved a little before I entered again. The competition closes tommorrow so I am just in time :)
Have a great Sunday whatever you are up to - I am going for a run in the morning to train for the race for life and will be crafting in the afternoon whoooppeeeee :)
