This is what has been keeping me busy

Hello ladies I hope you are all well first of all please let me apologies for being somewhat absent of late. I have been busy making my brothers wedding invitations and training for a half marathon I am running in October in aid of Sue Ryder Care.

I have finally finished all of the day invites made 35 of these in the end. Still have the evening ones to go but they are a little simpler and just a square card. I think most of the work came with making the pocket folds and the embossing and distressing I am really pleased with them.

Here is the front

To begin i cut out all of the invitations from sheets of A1 snow white card and made the pocket folds using a template given to me by my good friend Fiona. Once I had them all cut and ready to go i hand stamped all of the little snowflakes and embossed them with white embossing powder. Following this i used my Tim Holtz Distress inks in Broken china to lay the base colour and then added a bit of stormy sky to give depth. this gave the base of the card. I also wanted to add a little sparkle so i used some diamantes in the centre of some of the snowflakes and added stickles clear glitter glue to the centres of all of the ones without a diamante. The your invited stamp was stamped using memento ink.

I then had to print out the snowy trees background on the computer followed by the wedding invite text which i printed on to vellum. I attached the vellum to the snow image using blue brads which i bought in bulk on ebay (I did find some of them to be very brittle but for the most part they were ok) I rally like this effect i think you will be able to see it better in the photo below. (I have removed all of the dates and times with photo shop) Once I had this done i mounted the information on to a light blue paper and then mounted that on to silver miri card.

In this image you can see the snow background a bit better. (again the information has been removed using photoshop which is why there are blotches everywhere)

Here is a close up of the pocket fold. I made 3 inserts - 1x menu, 1x gift list, 1x venue info and directions.these were all mounted on to blue paper and then silver miri card.

I am seriously chuffed with how these turned out. Am working on getting the evening ones finished tomorrow so I can show you those soon too and I have made a stationery holder recently too which i have to show you :)

Thank you all for looking xx

I am entering these invites in to the following challenges;
