I have used a new technique which I learned at the class on Saturday I love it have bought some new colours to play with too :) I am not sure really how to describe it but basically it is using Distress inks which you rub on to the card in a circular motion using the lightest colour first and then the darkest colour over the top. If you want you can clear emboss some pattens on to the card before you add the ink - the darker the ink over these parts the more the embossed shapes will stand out. I really love this effect I wish i could describe it better for you - you will be able to see more cards using this effect on Brendas blog HERE
I have used Barn door and Rusty Hinge Distress inks for this card. The flourish stamp i bought on ebay and the sentiment is from a See D's set of stamps. The main image was a freebie last week at Karens Doodles (there is a new one up for grabs now so don't forget to check it out) I coloured the image using my copic markers and made it 3D by printing the image twice and certain parts of it.
Here is a close up of the image
I have used my inkassentials white pen to add highlights on the flowers and have also used it to give the dotty effect. I have again used the punch I borrowed from my friend Fiona to stamp out some butterflies and dragonflies to add to the card. I have added little gems to these. I have given the punches back now so had better get myself one :)
I also made these little roses aren't they great. I also learned how to make these from Brenda she has a tutorial for these on her blog too if you would like to have a go. I think these will feature on my cards quite a lot from now on - I never got used to working with pre made flowers you can buy in craft stores but these are PERFECT and i can make them to match my papers. In this case I used some card which had the same colour ink on it and edged the flowers with the barn door red and then added some glitter to the edges. the stamens were bought in a local craft shop, I really think they finish it off well.
I hope you have enjoyed my card today. Don't forget to enter the challenge over on the challenge blog there are some fab prizes up for offer.
Thank you for visiting and good luck in the challenge this week.
